A tiny flicker in your eyelid that won't stop. Nobody else seems to notice it, but you can't think about anything else.
What's happening
Most eyelid twitches are a harmless flicker in the small muscle around the eye. Common triggers are stress, short sleep, caffeine and long hours staring at screens. Busy weeks tend to stack all four.
The tool: the screen and sleep reset
Every 20 minutes, look at something about 6 metres away for 20 seconds.
Rub your palms together until warm, cup them over your closed eyes for 30 seconds and breathe slowly.
Swap one coffee a day for water this week.
Protect one extra hour of sleep for a few nights.
When to use it
As soon as the twitch starts, and every afternoon during heavy screen days.
See a doctor if it lasts more than a few weeks, your eyelid closes completely, or the twitching spreads to other parts of your face.
